A few of our earliest travelers, in their own words. We add to this page as more 2026 trips come back.

A ramen counter we'd never have found alone.

Our planner sent us to a Sunday-morning ramen spot in Osaka the queue hadn't found yet. Best meal of the trip. The whole itinerary was like that — like a friend showing us around, but every detail was already handled. We came home talking about it for weeks.

An empty road, in the best possible way.

They pulled us off the Ring Road on day three and pointed us at the Westfjords. We drove for an hour without seeing another car. The guesthouse, the chef, the hot springs — exactly the kind of places you'd never find by yourself.

A riad we now consider ours.

We were nervous about Marrakech — too loud, too much. The riad they put us in had this quiet courtyard we kept disappearing into for hours. By day three, the family running it knew our names. We'll go back.

The slowest, best ten days.

Two cooking days with a nonna. A driver who knew the back roads. A vineyard owner who poured us his last 2009 because we asked the right question. We didn't see Florence on day three. We didn't care.

A junk to ourselves.

We thought private boats in Hạ Long were a myth. Two nights, no other boats anywhere near us, a chef on board who'd worked at a famous Hanoi restaurant. We slept on deck under the karsts.

A trip that made us quieter.

We came back different. The estancia, the Torres trek, two nights in El Chaltén — the wind out there does something. Our planner refused to over-pack the schedule. He was right.
